Our Story
Leading an organization takes courage.
Whether you’re growing a business, stewarding a nonprofit, or guiding a charity, the responsibility is real. You’re making decisions with imperfect information, balancing people and purpose, and carrying the weight of outcomes that matter far beyond yourself. Too often, the financial side becomes another source of pressure instead of the support it should be.
Collective Finance exists so you don’t have to carry that alone.
We believe your finance team should have your back. That your numbers should bring clarity, not anxiety. And that the people supporting your organization should care about its mission, impact, and sustainability as much as you do. When your organization moves forward, we move with you.
Join. Integrate. Elevate.
“Your work deserves more than transactional bookkeeping. It deserves a finance team that is invested in your success and your purpose.”
How Collective Finance Came to Be
Collective Finance was created after years of watching organizations outgrow traditional bookkeeping models.
Across service-based businesses, nonprofits, and charities, bookkeeping was often treated as a checklist rather than a foundation. The work got done, but the context was missing. The relationship was thin. Leaders were left without the insight, confidence, or support they needed to make informed decisions for their teams, stakeholders, and communities.
We saw the gap and chose to build something different.
Collective Finance was designed to operate as an extension of your organization. A fully integrated finance department without the overhead of building one internally. A team that understands not just compliance, but responsibility. Not just reporting, but stewardship.
The Leadership Behind the Collective
Collective Finance is guided by experience and strengthened by our teams.
Our founder, Laura, brings over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial operations across both private and purpose-driven organizations. She is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper through the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada and holds her payroll certification with the National Payroll Institute of Canada.
In 2025, she was recognized with the Mentor of the Year Award from CPB for her leadership and commitment to strengthening the profession.
Laura has built and led fully operational teams of over one hundred people and understands what strong financial infrastructure makes possible, whether the goal is growth, sustainability, or long-term impact.
That experience shapes the standards, systems, and culture at Collective Finance. Our clients are supported by a team designed to deliver consistency, insight, and care, without dependency on a single individual.
The name reflects how we work and what we believe.
We don’t operate in silos. We work alongside our clients, investing in their organizations, their goals, and their missions. Our clients aren’t transactions. They’re relationships we care about and grow with.
Collective Finance is about building a community of professionals who believe finance can be supportive, strategic, and human.
Proudly Supporting Canadian Bookkeepers
We are deeply committed to the Canadian bookkeeping community.
All of our work is completed by Canadian-based professionals or individuals who have lived and worked in Canada. That lived experience matters. Canada’s regulatory environment is complex, and understanding it comes from being immersed in it.
This commitment allows us to deliver better service to our clients while also creating meaningful, sustainable opportunities for Canadian bookkeepers to thrive.
Why “Collective”
We promise to treat your organization like it matters, because it does.
That means showing up consistently, communicating clearly, and building financial systems that support accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability. We promise to work in your best interests, to think beyond transactions, and to be a steady, trusted presence as your organization evolves.
At our core, Collective Finance was founded on passion. A passion for delivering work that truly adds value. A passion for supporting leaders who are building businesses, nonprofits, and charities that make a difference. And a passion for strengthening the bookkeeping industry as a whole.
We focus on the numbers so you can focus on the work that matters most. What we’re really building is something bigger. A smarter, more human way to do finance, together.
